Power to Create Wealth

Power to Create Wealth

Abundant provision is provided for God’s people in the supernatural realm, but they had limited access to this realm under the Old Covenant. When Jesus came to earth, the heavens opened up and the way was made for believers to have full access to the supernatural realm and its provisions. “After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and lighting on him” (Matthew 3:16). If you are in Christ and he is in you, the heavens are open to you, giving you full access to the supernatural realm. In this study, you will learn how to operate in the supernatural realm to create wealth.

Understanding Kingdom Prosperity

The kingdom of God is within each believer (Luke 17:20-21). The kingdom within you is greater than the world around you. If God rules in your heart, you can release his dominion outside of you. The measure of the kingdom in which you operate is the measure you can release. Release the kingdom within you to transform the world around you.

Those people who do not prosper internally will not operate in God’s best. The descendants of Israel wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, but first they wandered in their hearts (Hebrews 3:9-10). Their internal reality defined their external situation.

God wants you to understand the process by which his kingdom operates so you can continually walk in it. The spirit man prospers first, next the soul prospers, and then the body or physical realm prospers. The spirit is the container which overflows from the blessings of heaven, pouring into the soul and onto the body or physical realm.

God’s kingdom is spiritual, and it builds up the spirit man. Always seek the spiritual kingdom before anything else. “Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Thus, prosperity of the spirit comes first. Then the soul prospers before believers can prosper in the physical or financial realm. “Beloved, I pray that in all respects you may prosper and be in good health, just as your soul prospers” (3 John 1:2). Your internal reality will shape your health and finances. It is the Father’s will that your natural prosperity rises to the same level as prosperity of the soul. If the soul prospers at a high level, then the natural prosperity can rise to the same high level. Seek to prosper first in the spirit, second in the soul and then you can prosper in the physical or financial realm.

Transformed Mind

Before experiencing the new birth, people were slaves to sin (Romans 6:17). The Spirit takes people from having a slave mentality into sonship and freedom. “You have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons” (Romans 8:15). A radical change in thinking is required to transform a slave mentality to sonship. It takes the light and power of the Spirit to transform a person’s mind from slavery to sonship.

See things from God’s perspective rather than your own circumstances and hurts. The same attitude and mind of Christ Jesus can direct your thoughts through the word of God and his Spirit (Philippians 2:5). Renew your mind to the word of God (Ephesians 4:23). Stop thinking like people in the world. Put off the old corrupt way of thinking which includes such things as doubt, fear, and bitterness to think like God. The carnal mind is an enemy to God, but a renewed mind is in agreement with God. Believers are transformed to be like Christ by renewing their minds.

Transform the mind and it becomes the transformer. With a transformed mind, you can transform your world. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is (Romans 12:2). Those who have been transformed by encountering God become transformers of situations and cities. Paul and Silas were accused of being the men “who have turned the world upside down” (Acts 17:5-6). With a renewed mind, a believer can demonstrate signs and wonders and transform cities because he/she can prove God’s will.

Decreeing a Matter

When you seek something from God, you may receive the victory or a promise of victory. With the victory, your responsibility is to give him thanks. If you receive a promise of victory, your responsibility shifts, and you are to use the promise to fight the good fight of faith. “This command I entrust to you, Timothy, my son, in accordance with the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you fight the good fight” (1 Timothy 1:18). Remove obstacles to victory by speaking God’s word to them. “Whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him” (Mark 11:23).

The word of God is full of power waiting to be released as active energy by those who believe. “The word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing and effective]” (Hebrews 4:12 AMP). Speaking the word of God can produce high-energy, creative miracles. God spoke the worlds into existence. “By faith, we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God” (Hebrews 11:3). By hearing the voice of the Spirit, believers can speak the living word of God into the earth and miraculously change things.

You can only give what you have. In the midst of a storm, Jesus released the kingdom peace which he carried in his heart. “He rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace, be still!’ And the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:39 NKJV). Peace in the kingdom is the presence of the Spirit.

You carry power in your heart to create wealth. Speak what the Spirit says and your words become spirit and power. Jesus said, “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life” (John 6:63). “The kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power” (1 Corinthians 4:20).

Personal Stories on Decreeing a Matter

God wants to avenge his people for what the enemy has stolen, and here is a personal story on how this principle worked for me and what I decreed. One of the repairs on our car was done incorrectly, and I considered that $300 had been stolen from us. I declared a 7-fold return for the money stolen. When a thief is found, he must repay sevenfold (Proverbs 6:30-31). This is a spiritual concept aimed at spiritual forces. I decreed the matter in my home, and a man from another country whom I never met was used to send me the money. He was a government official who asked me to do some minor tax research for his local government. Since I was the one who developed and published the procedures to be used, his request involved a few simple calculations for me. He offered me $2100 to do this consulting project. Before the check arrived, the Holy Spirit told me this money was the 7-fold return I was expecting from the declaration I made earlier. It shows that God wants to avenge you, and he may work through you to do it.

A woman who was coming to one of our services had only two dollars, but she had a bill coming due for $500. On the way to the service, she stopped at a convenience store which sold lottery tickets. She thought about buying a lottery ticket in hopes she would win enough money to pay the bill. She decided against buying the lottery ticket, and instead, she gave the two dollars to the Lord in our service. After she put the money in the offering, she received a prophetic word from the Lord through Sherry that she would receive $500. Sherry did not know about the bill that was due, but the Holy Spirit did. Within a few days, the woman received the $500 as promised and used it to pay the bill. The lottery is very risky, but God rewards faithfulness.

Conclusions

Wealth in God’s kingdom does not consist of mere physical possessions but a person’s riches toward God. Being rich toward God involves both giving and receiving by faith. With faith, a person deposits into a heavenly storehouse and then withdraws from the storehouse to influence lives and situations. The withdrawals can include money, health, love, peace, or whatever is needed at the time.

God gives believers the power of the Holy Spirit to create wealth. This power is activated by speaking faith-filled words based on what a believer hears God speak by his Spirit. Speaking God’s word creates an atmosphere of highly charged energy. That energy can be focused and directed toward what is needed. The enemy would like to stop the word of God from being spoken, but he cannot stop its power to change situations. God actively watches over his word to accomplish what was spoken. A believer can change the world around by using the power within.
